I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are ready to ring in the new year!
We didn't get as much snow as was forecast this week, but got a dusting overnight and more light accumulations are expected this week.

December 6, 2025 Update
The winter solstice may still be 15 days away, but there's a chill in the air, a bit of snow on the ground, and ice anglers on the lake! The 2025 Portage Lake Ice-In Date was Nov. 28 . Thanks to Paul and Marilyn Peterson for diligently monitoring and reporting our ice dates. See the historical dates online . A Minnesota DNR AIS Management grant application has been submitted for Portage Lake to treat Curly-Leaf Pondweed. We will hear in January 2026 if we were awarded a gra

Independence Day: Thanks to everyone who participated in the July 4th Flotilla. The lake was full of energy that day - which was fun to see. And it was a beautiful day... until it wasn't! Several people on the lake had damage from the very quick but mighty storm system that hit just before 8 p.m. on the 4th. Annual Association Potluck & Meeting

June 19, 2025 Update

It should not get any worse than it is now, and will likely start to die back on its own as we continue through June. I understand that the g
