I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are ready to ring in the new year! We didn't get as much snow as was forecast this week, but got a dusting overnight and more light accumulations are expected this week.

The winter solstice may still be 15 days away, but there's a chill in the air, a bit of snow on the ground, and ice anglers on the lake! The  2025 Portage Lake Ice-In Date was Nov. 28 . All, Our October gathering is this week!  5:30 p.m. // Wednesday, Oct. 8 Good Life Cafe Please either RSVP to the Facebook event or by replying to this email.  Also, we have the date selected for our 2nd Annual Friendsgiving at Jack Pines Cookhouse. It will be on Tuesday, Nov. 18 and will be the same format as last year (everyone bring a dish to share and Jack Pines will provide the turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy).
